Planning a remodel, a landscaping or hardscape project, site work, or a new build. Or dealing with a project that's already gone wrong. You deserve someone watching out for you — not the contractor, not the architect. You. That's what I do.
Most people only do a major project once or twice in their life. Contractors do them every day. That experience gap is where owners get hurt — through vague bids, missing scope, change order surprises, and contractors who know you don't know what to ask.
I close that gap. I'm the experienced voice in your corner that levels the playing field — so you walk into every conversation with a contractor knowing exactly what's fair, what's missing, and what to watch for.
You've decided to move forward on a project. Maybe it's a kitchen remodel, a bathroom renovation, a landscaping overhaul, a hardscape patio, a drainage fix, or a full site development. You know what you want — but you have no idea who to call, whether the bids are fair, or how to make sure the work actually gets done right.
I step in as your personal project advisor. I help you define the full scope, find and vet the right contractors, review every bid for accuracy and red flags, and stay involved throughout so nothing falls through the cracks.
You stay in control of your money and your decisions. I make sure those decisions are informed ones.
I am not a general contractor. I do not pull permits, hold subcontracts, or manage your payments. You control your money. I control the quality of your decisions.
Twenty-five years managing construction projects — federal, military, commercial, and private. I know how contractors think because I've been one. I know what bids are missing because I've written them. I know what goes wrong because I've fixed it.
I have worked in construction since 2000 and founded Brunow Contracting in 2008, spending the last 25 years delivering complex projects across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota. My clients include the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Forest Service, US Department of Agriculture, Iowa and Nebraska US Army and Air National Guards, City of Omaha, Turner Construction, and various private commercial clients throughout the Midwest.
I managed projects from preconstruction through closeout — budgets, schedules, subcontractors, contracts, change orders, and everything in between. I've seen every trick, every shortcut, and every red flag that costs owners time, money, and peace of mind.
Now I bring that experience directly to the people who need it most — owners who are about to write a very large check to a contractor they just met, and who deserve someone in their corner who has been on both sides of that relationship.
If I could manage projects to the exacting standards demanded by federal agencies and the US military — where being over budget, behind schedule, or missing something in a contract simply was not an option — I can protect your project too. No matter the size, every client gets that same standard.
We talk through your project, your concerns, and whether I'm the right fit. Thirty minutes. No forms. No sales pitch. Just a real conversation.
If we're a fit, I put together a clear agreement — what I'll do, how I'll be involved, and what it costs. Hourly, flat fee, or retainer depending on your project.
You have direct access to me — by phone or email. I review, advise, and advocate. You make your decisions with the confidence of having an expert in your corner.
Every decision is yours. Every dollar stays in your hands. I'm here to make sure you have the right information — not to take over your project.
The first conversation is always free. Whether you're planning a project, in the middle of one, or trying to figure out how to handle something that's gone wrong — call or email. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
A 30-minute call with Tamara directly. No assistant. No intake form. Just a straight conversation.
It helps to come ready to describe:
You'll leave knowing whether working together makes sense — and if not, I'll tell you that honestly too.
